# design work with agents ![[../_resources/Pasted image 20260329190352.png]] ## intro As a company founder and product owner in 2026, I need a new way of interacting with my designs and setting them up. When I create a new poster in Figma, I have to: 1. go to the Figma file in my browser manually 2. upload a photo into the Figma environment 3. place it in the respective component by hand 4. crop it and frame it 5. select the needed components 6. export them as png Instead, I want to have a local note where I link a picture and some text. I write, run Claude Code, or another AI agent on that note. Three minutes later a PNG file exported from Figma with all of my updates appears in that note automatically. --- ### talc to me ![[../_resources/screenshots_animated.gif]] --- ## motivation ### for founders This is a very simple use case, frankly much simpler than the ones described below in the Figma announcement, and very relevant for our project, as it allows me to have an easy-to-use and repeatable set of templates in Figma, maintaining high design quality and very low effort to create a new poster. ### for designers Roman, for you as a designer, it is a great opportunity to expand your experience working with coding agents on a fairly simple and practical task. You will learn - how to set up plot code with the new Figma MCP - what works and what doesn't for our use case, - collect more information for future iterations Probably most importantly you can see how design work has been changing over the years. Working on such projects will give you a substantial advantage on the job market in the future -- or mayhaps even inspire you to start a new agency now, native to the AI age --- ## task ### design for agents It is meaningful to start arranging the necessary pieces of this system early in the project, as while creating templates we need to consider the requirements to those templates from the perspective of the AI agent -- the so-called AX, or agent experience, see https://incontext.computer/knowledge/ax ### read the docs Start working on that by spening two hours reading through all the following documentation As a deliverable create a summary in one simple document about how I as a founder can use my coding agent to connect to our [Cogit – Figma](https://www.figma.com/design/NQsJknDFZxGSa2UU8BFmvE/Cogit?node-id=0-1&p=f&t=WXtVXjQLOGJu0twW-0) ### establish a base Establish a first basic but working connection with the cogit project in Figma from a local Claude Code (see [Quickstart](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/quickstart)) --- ## documentation ### figma announcement ![[../_resources/Pasted image 20260329184547.png]] https://www.figma.com/blog/the-figma-canvas-is-now-open-to-agents/ --- ### Guide to the Figma MCP server ![[../_resources/Pasted image 20260329184806.png]] https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/32132100833559-Guide-to-the-Figma-MCP-server --- ### Figma skills for MCP ![[../_resources/Pasted image 20260329184820.png]] https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/39166810751895-Figma-skills-for-MCP --- ### figma mcp on github ![[../_resources/Pasted image 20260329184905.png]] https://github.com/figma/mcp-server-guide --- // 29 mar 2026, berlin --end--
